One box set down, and ready for the next! Things continue to move forward for the crew, sometimes a little too conveniently maybe, but still an awesome read.
Starting to feel the beginning of exhaustion creeping in for how long these are and how much is left. I love the characters and the world, and the short interludes are interesting to see, but it all kind of feels unimportant and like really well-crafted filler until the main characters all end up in the same place at the end to fight the bad guys. This makes the ending feel pumped up and exciting, seeing all these people suddenly in the same place again and kicking ass, but you pretty much know that’s where it’s headed as soon as they keep mentioning {fill in each book’s big destination} a hundred times, in this case the city of Tear. In a lesser series, this would make the read a slog. But the pit stops made here are honestly interesting and keep the pages flipping, regardless of the long-term influence. If more of the books have this formula, however, it’s gonna be a long road ahead.
